A Solid Review of the Hordes of the Abyss

Pathfinder's Monsters Revisited books are pretty much solid gold, and this book isn't much of an exception. Here we get the 10 demons from the first Bestiary detailed in all their fiendish glory. There is a lot of excellent stuff here, including an exploration of what sins drive the demons and how they inspire those sins in others. There are also a lot of interesting variant demons and unique demons, including some high-level stuff that is quite enticing for those trying out the new Mythic rules.
My one complaint about this book comes mostly from the nature of the creatures being covered. Past books in this vein have provided a lot of information about the creatures' societies and their ecology. Because demons aren't naturally occurring creatures and exist as an embodiment of one particular sin, there is less of that here. It is made up for with more examples of unique demons, but there is something lacking due to the nature of these creatures. Hopefully future Revisited books will go back to the world of Golarion rather than the Lower Planes, but even if they don't this is still a good book in its own right.
